Tottenham Hotspur vs. Manchester City:

Preview and TV Schedule

Tottenham face a hugely important battle in the race for the Champions League places as they face second-placed Manchester City at White Hart Lane.

Tottenham Hotspur face a crucial battle against Manchester City as they chase Champions League qualification, but will still be without key players as they go into the clash.
Gareth BaleJermain Defoe and Aaron Lennon's absences have made life difficult for Spurs in recent games, and they will have to rely without them once again against a City side that appears to be ending the season in strong form.
Tottenham have fallen two points behind rivals Arsenal in the Premier League and dropped out of the top four, although they have a game in hand on their rivals, so victory will be of the utmost importance. With Chelseaappearing to pick up form too, and Everton ending the season strongly, Spurs' margin for error is rapidly slipping away. They cannot afford to wait for their returning absentees, so this game will be huge.

Tottenham Hotspur are still not ready to welcome back Gareth Bale or Aaron Lennon, but Jermain Defoe has a chance of being able to play a part.

Manchester City ‘ready to spend £117 m to seal Edinson Cavani transfer’

Manchester City are said to have promised Edinson Cavani they will make him the best-paid player in the Premier League if he agrees to join them from Napoli.
According to reports in Italy, City have made securing a deal for Uruguay star Cavani their top priority in the summer as they bid to mount a serious title challenge.
Napoli have always denied they will consider selling their top scorer, who has bagged 71 goals in just 98 matches following his arrival from Palermo in 2007.
But it is thought that Cavani himself has got itchy feet in Italy, and now City have promised to pay him over £65million over the course of a five-year deal if he moves to the Etihad Stadium.
Carlos Tevez is currently the highest-paid player at City, but the Daily Mail suggests Cavani would eclipse him with a £256,000-a-week salary – equating to £13.3million a year.
The remarkable pay packet would be on top of any transfer fee, which is likely to be close to his £52million asking price, meaning a final amount of £117million for a striker regarded as one of the best around.
The deal, that would be solely funded by their Qatari owners, would not fall in line with Financial Fair Play, meaning sales may have to be made to balance the books.
Sergio Aguero has been strongly linked with Real Madrid but is said to be on the cusp of penning a new deal, while Edin Dzeko has held talks with Borussia Dortmund over a switch to Germany.
Cavani has a contract with Napoli until 2017.
