Manchester City face battle to sign PSG star

Manchester City face a summer battle to secure a cut-price deal for PSG star Blaise Matuidi.

Managerless City have already signed Jesus Navas and Fernandinho since the end of the season and Matuidi is also on their radar.

The combative holding midfielder, who is also a long-term Arsenal target, is out of contract in Paris in a little over 12 months and can walk out for nothing at the end of next season.

And City reckon they could tempt PSG to sell with a deal worth around £10m, given his current contract situation.

But they look set to face a challenge from Rafa Benitez, the Napoli manager, who has identified the 26-year-old France international as a perfect addition to his midfield.
